Eating well is a form of self respect. Our health is our wealth is a popular phrase yet without our health where would we be?

If you think about it our health allows us to get up every morning, travel to work, chat with family and friends, exercise or go for long walks.

Many of us do not realise how important our health is until we don’t have it. We have one life to live so look after it by looking after it.

A Healthy Breakfast Alternative


TASTY TUESDAY
Chia Blueberry Overnight Oats
A healthy breakfast option which is high in protein and a great source of fibre.
Ingredients
120ml water
120g fat free yoghurt
50g rolled oat
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 serving of Herbalife Formula 1
1 serving Herbalife Protein Drink Mix
15g blueberries, slightly mashed

Place the yoghurt in a bowl then whisk in the water. Add in the oats, chia seeds, Formula 1 shake, PDM and the blueberries. Mix well together.
Cover and place in the fridge overnight.

Suggestion: mash the blueberries first before adding into the mixture.

There’s no question that loading up on sugary and refined-carbohydrate-rich foods, such as white bread, pasta and doughnuts, can raise your risk of developing health problems like heart disease and diabetes. But if you cut out so-called “good-carb” foods, such as whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables, you’re missing out on your body’s main source of fuel as well as vital nutrients and fiber. What’s more, for many people, a low-carb diet may be harder to stick with in the long run.
When a handful of major studies recently compared low-carb diets with low-fat diets and other approaches to losing weight, they found that in the first few months, those following the low-carb diets tended to lose slightly more weight. “That’s because low-carb diets are more restrictive,” she explains. “Anything that limits your choices will help you lose weight initially.” But after a year or as much as three years, weight-loss differences between the diets tend to even out
In conclusion, a balanced diet of healthy fats, protein and carbohydrates from wholemeal, pasta will give your body what it needs to function fully.

    A Vegetarian Meal, Slow Cooker Style


    TASTY TUESDAY
    Slow cooker recipe- Moroccan Vegetable Stew
    2 onions, sliced
    4 sticks celery, sliced
    2 carrots, sliced
    4 potatoes, sliced
    2 red peppers, cut into 2.5cm squares
    1 x 400g tin of chickpeas
    2 x 400g tin of tomatoes
    2 bay leaves
    100ml water.

    Place all the ingredients into the slow cooker on HIGH for 8 hours or on AUTO for at least 6 hours. It’s that simple to do.
